Bord Gáis Energy renews sponsorship of Bord Gáis Energy Theatre

18 September 2024: Bord Gáis Energy, one of Ireland’s leading services and solutions providers, today announced the renewal of its sponsorship of the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre for a further 10 years.  The new 10-year partnership with Crownway Entertainment Limited will see Bord Gáis Energy continue its role as the venue’s naming rights sponsor of Ireland’s largest fixed-seat theatre. Bord Gáis Energy has sponsored the theatre since 2012, making it one of the longest running arts sponsorships in the country. The sponsorship was officially launched today by Irish teenage actress and star of Matilda the Musical Alisha Weir and children from The Independent Theatre Workshop stage school in Clonskeagh, Dublin. 

For the last 12 years the sponsorship has enabled the theatre to showcase spectacular international shows and exceptional Irish talent, infusing Ireland’s cultural landscape with vibrant energy and connecting people through the magic of the arts.  

To date the partnership has supported over 450 spellbinding productions and over 3,500 showstopping performances including smash hit musicals such as Hamilton, The Lion King, Wicked and Mamma Mia, while over 5.5 million people have enjoyed the magic of the theatre thanks to this sponsorship.   

The renewed partnership will continue to energise Ireland’s vibrant cultural scene by bringing the biggest and best shows from the West End and Broadway to the Theatre’s audience while making it easier than ever for Bord Gáis Energy customers to access tickets and unmissable experiences via its online customer Rewards Club programme.
