  • Enhanced customer rewards experience launched as theatre doors reopen

Bord Gáis Energy has teamed up with up-and-coming young Irish artist Luke Reidy to create a brand-new look for its customer rewards experience at the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre. As the theatre doors reopen once again, Bord Gáis Energy today celebrated by unveiling the new designs created by Luke which will be featured across ambassador uniforms, customer merchandise and other in-theatre collateral.

The West-Clare native, now based in Galway, is known for his architectural and strong geometric designs which are in keeping with the celebrated angular shaped Bord Gáis Energy Theatre designed by award winning architect Daniel Libeskind. Luke’s bespoke design aims to bridge and balance both the contemporary and vintage décor of the theatre while also incorporating the Bord Gáis Energy brand by using its bright vibrant colour palette including pink, blue and orange.

The partnership forms part of Bord Gáis Energy’s enhanced customer rewards experience which will provide customers with access to tickets to sold out shows as well as the opportunity to tailor their theatre experience.  Using the new online and in-theatre self-serve system, customers can avail of bespoke VIP nights at the theatre including booking upgrades to the Terrace bar, VIP Box upgrades as well as pre-ordering food and merchandise, accessing last minute tickets and availing of exclusive weekly giveaways and customised gifts.

Bord Gáis Energy expects to welcome 12,000 customers to their VIP Rewards events at the theatre over the next 12 months for shows such as The Lion King, Chicago, Les Misérables and Swan Lake. In addition, tens of thousands of rewards customers will also be able to avail of exclusive pre-sale tickets to these shows.

To celebrate the reopening of the theatre and the new look Rewards Club, Bord Gáis Energy is giving away a signed copy of the bespoke print by Luke Reidy as well as VIP tickets to the sold-out show, The Book of Mormon on 1 December.  The lucky winner will also have the chance to meet the artist in person on the night. Commenting on the partnership, Tanya Townsend, Sponsorship Manager said: “Over the last year, we have had the pleasure of working with Luke on creating a modern, fresh new look and feel for the theatre. We’re proud to support such a talented young Irish artist. It’s fantastic to see the theatre finally reopen its doors and we’re excited about providing our customers with a best-in-class experience from the moment they arrive through the doors.”

Speaking about his design, Luke Reidy said:  When I was asked to create a design that would represent Bord Gáis Energy within the Theatre, I was inspired by the strong architectural piercing forms of the building as well as the joy and laughter within the walls.

My design utilises colour to portray the light, energy and internal character of the theatre, while integrating a looseness to the sharp structural forms of the bisecting lines and corners of the buildings architecture”

Stephen Faloon, General Manager, Bord Gáis Energy Theatre said: “Our sponsorship with Bord Gáis Energy is incredibly important to us in working together to celebrate and support the arts. The new look and process in which Bord Gáis Energy and Luke have embarked upon compliments the shared ambition between the theatre and Bord Gáis Energy in providing fresh, innovative and creative new concepts, performances and relationships.”
