Why would my system need power flushing?
To see if your heating system needs power flushing, keep reading.
Existing systems need power flushing if:
- The heating system is slow to warm up.
- Cold spots occur in the middle of the radiators due to a build-up of sludge in the heating system.
- Your boiler makes unusual noises
- Your pump fails repeatedly
- Radiators need frequent bleeding.
- Radiators leak from pin holing in the radiator body
It’s prudent to power flush a heating system immediately before fitting a new boiler to an existing system, to prevent possible future problems. Many systems are found to contain corrosion and sludge, even if no flow problems have yet shown themselves.
Boiler manufacturers now state that your new system must be power flushed before a new boiler can be installed as failure to do so will invalidate the warranty.
Note: If you don’t avail of power flushing after being advised of its necessity, the system will continue to deteriorate, efficiency will decrease and pin-holing in your system may occur.
