What is power flushing?
Power flushing improves your heating by flushing out your heating system.
Power flushing can help when:
- Your heating system is slow to warm up.
- There are cold spots in the middle of radiators.
- Your boiler is making unusual noises.
The system will be assessed for suitability by the service engineer on first inspection, before any work commences. The power flush service engineer will ask you to sign a disclaimer form after they’ve confirmed you’ve read the power flush terms and conditions. They’ll then provide you with a hard copy of the terms and conditions, and our Back Office team will also send you these by email when the job is booked.
What happens during the appointment?
We try to ensure that any disruption is kept to a minimum. As our service engineer will have to carry out inspections at your boiler, radiators and hot water cylinder, please ensure that they’ve access to look at these.
During the appointment, the service engineer will drain your system and connect the power flushing machine. The boiler, pipes and radiators are then flushed with a cleaning chemical. They’ll then add a corrosion inhibitor to prevent corrosion occurring. In total, the process can take anywhere from five to eight hours.
To complement our power flushing service, we can now install a central heating system filter on the same day as your power flushing job. The additional charge is applied to your services bill.
A central heating system filter is a small yet powerful device that fits by your boiler or hot water cylinder. It captures damaging debris and sludge from the water in your heating system and prevents it from entering your boiler and causing damage. It’ll protect your boiler and radiators and help your heating system last longer and work more efficiently.
