Managing target spend goals
If you've chosen one of the following smart plans, you can set yourself a weekly or monthly spend goal for your electricity usage:
- Electric Vehicle (EV) Smart Plan
- Discount Weekend Smart Residential Variable Plan
- Free Time Saturday/Sunday Plan
- Smart All Day Plan
We'll then keep you informed on how your costs are trending compared to your spend goals. This can help you to manage and control your energy spending.
How to set up a spend goal
To set this up, follow these steps:
- Sign in to your online account. If you don't have an online account, register here.
- Click the 'Set goal' or 'Edit' button within your spend goal tile, which is directly underneath your cost and consumption graph. You'll see 'set goal' if it's the first time setting up a goal. You'll see 'edit' if you're changing an existing goal.
- You can make amendments to your spend goal on the next screen. Ensure to click the 'Save' button to save any changes made. To opt out of receiving email notifications, you'll see a toggle at the bottom of the spend goal box which can be turned on/off.
Please note: Your spend goal relates to spend on unit rate charges only and does not include standing charges.
Over target notification emails
‘Over target’ means you’ve exceeded the spend goal which you've set for your smart account for this week or month.
You can edit your spend goal or opt-out of receiving spend goal email notifications at anytime through your online account.
