Information about boiler repairs

Book a gas boiler repair appointment online here. 

If your boiler is in working order, please book a boiler service to avoid a cancellation or charge. 

You can book a gas boiler repair appointment online in our Services section for €149, which covers the first 30 minutes of labour. Payment can be made online using a debit/credit card. 

Where applicable, additional costs for labour and parts will be charged later to your Services account*. A charge of €25 for each additional 15 minutes of labour applies thereafter, not including the price for parts (if required). 

*Please note that payment will need to be made by the due date set out. 

If for any reason we can't repair your boiler, our service engineer will advise you of this and talk you through your options. 

On the day of the appointment 

Before our service engineer visits your home, they may call you to give you an estimated time of arrival. There are a few important things to remember: 

  • There must be an adult (18+) present for the appointment. 
  • If our service engineer is unable to access the property, we may apply a non-access charge of €30 to your Services account.  
  • For some older or more complex boilers, the service engineer may need additional time or parts beyond the 45 minutes allocated. If so, they will advise if any additional charges apply.
  • If the appointment you have booked is a 365 Boiler Care service and cover, the service engineer will first assess whether the boiler is suitable for the plan and its cover. 

If your boiler can’t be repaired and you need to get a new boiler, the callout charge will still apply. However if you purchase your new boiler from Bord Gáis Energy or Local Heroes, you'll receive a free service after one year. You can book a boiler installation at bordgaisenergy.ie/services/install. 

Cancellations 

You have the right to cancel without charge within 14 days of receiving the terms and conditions (or 30 days if you signed up via doorstep sales agent), unless the appointment has been carried out before the end of this period with your agreement.  

If the job has not been dispatched, you can cancel or reschedule your appointment online or up to 24 hours before your appointment by contacting us. 

Please note: If you cancel your appointment less than 24 hours before it's scheduled or after the cooling-off period (which is 14 days, or 30 days if you agreed to the contract with a doorstep sales agent), we'll charge a cancellation fee of €30. You’ll also be deemed to have cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice if the service engineer cannot access your property on the agreed time and day of the appointment.
