I've multiple electricity accounts; will I receive multiple credits?

Yes, the government credit will be applied to each residential electricity account.

Yes, the government credit will be applied to each residential electricity account, provided each account meets the eligibility criteria and is not considered a 'low usage' account.

Per government guidelines, customers whose MPRN is flagged as low usage by ESB Networks are not eligible to receive this credit.

Low usage means you have used <150kWh per quarter over four quarters in a row - 1 September 2023 to 31 August 2024. Low usage accounts are not eligible for the credit.

If you've a microgeneration account registered with ESB Networks for the payment period, you won't be on the low usage list and will therefore receive the credit.

Where the holder of a low usage electricity account meets one or more of the following criteria, they’ll receive the credits:

  • If you're a registered vulnerable customer
  • if you're eligible to be registered as a vulnerable customer
  • If you hold a hardship meter account.
