How can I tell if my home has a good energy rating?
To find out your Building Energy Rating (BER), you'll need to have a BER assessment.
A Building Energy Rating (BER) is a system used to measure and assess the current energy performance of a property. Once you’ve had a BER assessment conducted on your home you’ll receive a detailed survey and calculations which indicate how much energy and carbon your property consumes per square meter per year.
The BER scale ranges from A to G. A-rated homes are the most energy efficient, while G-rated homes are the least. Therefore, homes with a BER rating closer to A have lower energy consumption and energy costs for the homeowner.
