Can I request a smart meter?

Customers with certain meter types can apply to ESB Networks for a prioritised installation. 

Customers with 24-hour meters or day/night meters can apply to ESB Networks for a prioritised installation of a smart meter. 

Your smart meter will be a “like for like” replacement. This means there’ll be no change to your current plan or discounts, nor will it affect when you’ll be billed. 

You can contact the ESB Networks Smart Metering support line on1800 928123 or 01 6985005. You'll need to have your 11-digit MPRN numberto hand. Alternatively, email esbnetworks@esb.ie. 

If you change your mind about a smart meter installation, you can contact us on  01 6110152  to cancel your request. ESB Networks have advised that this can only be done up to the point of meter exchange.
