How do I close my business account?
To close your account, you can either get in touch directly with your key account manager or get in touch with our customer service team by using our online query form and provide us with the following details.
Information to provide us with when closing your existing account:
- Account number
- MPRN / GPRN (this number is located on the top right-hand corner of your bill)
- A meter reading*
- Forwarding address for your final bill
- Contact details for the landlord or the new occupier
*If you are unable to provide us with a meter reading, our customer service agents can provide you with an estimate reading. The estimated read may not be accurate, and you will provide verbal approval before we can use this as your closing read. You will remain liable until a read has been provided/agreed by you.
Important to note:
If you are a landlord and your tenants have moved out of your property, please ensure to let us know. You must sign on to the account for the interim duration until new tenants move in to your property, to ensure you avoid any risk of disconnection. You can get in touch by simply completing our online query form.
If you are one of the following customers, we are unable to final bill your closing account until the landlord or new occupier signs up to us; Low Voltage Maximum Demand (LVMD), Quarterly Hour (QH) and Fuel Variation Tariff sites (FVT).
