What is MEC?
MEC is the maximum generation capacity of your installed microgeneration equipment.
MEC stands for Maximum Export Capacity. It’s the size of your microgeneration system (like solar panels), measured in kilowatts (kW), and tells us how much electricity your system can generate.
This value is registered with ESB Networks when your installation is approved. That approval date becomes the official start date for your MEC.
If you think your MEC is incorrect or have questions about it, please contact ESB Networks directly.
