How do I apply to connect a microgenerator to the grid?

A customer who wishes to connect a microgenerator to the Low Voltage network must notify ESB Networks using an NC6 or equivalent form. The form and details are available on ESB Networks website. Once your application has been processed, ESBN will notify your supplier of your Maximum export capacity (MEC).  

ESBN is introducing a new process for those seeking a connection above microgeneration and  below 50kW which ESBN defines as ‘Mini-Generation’. The new streamlined process is expected to initially work on a pilot basis and is subject to approval by CRU (Commission for the Regulation of Utilities). Full details of the new process and the commencement dates will be made available on the ESB Networks website following approval by CRU.
