How do I cancel my application to switch?
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2022, you can cancel your contract within 14 days from the date you agreed to this contract if you signed up via a website or over the phone, or 30 days from the date you agreed to this contract if you signed up via one of our doorstep sales agents.
If you applied to switch your gas or electricity to us and now wish to cancel, please follow these steps:

Please complete our Cancellation Form online. Alternatively, you can download the form and post to Customer Service, Bord Gáis Energy, PO Box 10943, Dublin 2.
You can also get in touch with us by submitting a query to request your account be closed.
I applied to switch more than 14 days ago (or 30 days if you signed up via a doorstep sales agent)
You'll need to contact us to request your account be closed, as this is after the cooling off period.
Note: In the electricity and gas markets, you have the option to start the switch process after the cooling-off period. If you wish to do this, you need to select this option at sign up.
